My Vegetarian tale continues!

Just had a little autumn cleanup in the posts in this almost forgotten blog, and bumped into my Vegetarian post and I can happily inform you that I have been a vegetarian for 1 year and 5 days (when this was written and posted).

I haven’t eaten meat, except for the Chicken on the first day and crumbles of meat on the grandioasa pizza(Dad does not respect that I am a vegetarian, so I am the one who has to adjust in that household) and I am really enjoying being green, especially after I finally found a store that sells tofu and soya products. The soya sausages still tastes like crap!

But my lifestyle change had a dark side, about a month ago I started to feel extra sleepy, constant stomach pain and pretty much no energy. Luckily for me it was right before my planed blood test at my doctor. I had already visited him months ago and told him that I had become a vegetarian so he had sat me up on a blood test to check that I was getting everything I needed.

The test showed that I had 4 out of the 15 iron things I needed in my blood. So clearly I had to little iron in my blood and that had caused all my trouble. He just recommended me some iron tablets, but I didn’t find them so I bought another type and they were a bit stronger, followed the guidelines, but then I suddenly got sick again and the pains came back even harder. I was so confused, but mom found out that if you get a iron overdose you can experience the same symptoms.

so now I only take the pills 3 times a week, and everyday when I have my period.

So the lesson is: see your doctor, and check your blood every 3 months, before you get sick

I support PETA, I love animals and I wanna right for their rights to have a most human life as possible, but it was not my main reason to become a vegetarian. Still I started to get more into animal rights and taking care of the environment and I just have to add that I love this commercial, it is so me!

Auto Tune

I just listen to the AP-Podcast with Silverstein and the topic of Auto Tune (of vocals) and playback came up. In this modern society we are pushed to our limits to achieve ultimate perfection. Who created it and who is to blame? Us.

I think this is wrong, really wrong. In the past I haven’t been really touched by it since it was a phenomenon that was most common in the pop genre. Britney Spears is a name that should pop up in your head right now, along with miss Ashlee Simpsons accident.

I can’t really blame them, the hype around them are ridicules, the media threat them as if they weren’t humans at all. I know that it is disappointing, that when you go to a concert and the vocals isn’t on its best, but we just have to face it. The artist gets tired, sick and even wears their voice out at times.

I wasn’t concerned until the auto tune started to approach my territory, the more heavy music genres like rock and metal (pop-rock is not in there). One of the things that I love about those genres is the rawness, the intensity, the reality and the individual sound.

That will soon be a faded memory if everything develops the way it’s going now.

Hello world!

Long time since i have left any signs of my existing here. There has been a lot of things going on in my life, physical and emotional.I am ashamed to say that my Norwegian blog is getting more and more attention but I’m going to try to include you English understanding persons into my life also.

For my creative side, I’m in a very good period. I have spent more time away from school and my creativity flow is now like a free river and not like a hot dessert. You can see some of my latest work and school projects on deviantart.

At the moment my summer holiday have sort of started. I have to stop my school tomorrow so that one of my teacher can look over some papers and tasks that I might have use for IF I have to have an Oral exam next week. If I don’t get selected for the oral exam (only half the class will be), I’m free for the summer!

I haven’t really decided if I am happy or sad that I didn’t get the summer job. I should get a job and earn some money and get some experience, but I have enough trouble as it is with balancing school and life.

For about a week ago I bought my first Macbook, and I absolutely love it. When I get the Adobe programs that I need for school I think the mac can really help me at school, not just so that I can become better, but also so that I can work at home and get done with every thing. There is some differences between a PC and a Mac. buttons and shortcuts, must be the biggest one, but after a short while you got it. another great thing about my new mac is that it has a L button that works! and it’s really good at spelling.

I have decided to go green

I am a so called Lakto-vegeterian.

that means that and don’t eat the same things as a normal vegeterian, but I also eat eggs and dairy products.

This time I am doing this much more serious then last time, I have prepered myself much more and read more.

I had a soft start with spagetti and chicken, in the future I won’t be eating chicken, meat or fish

Headbanging Night

First off I just wanna point out something, really good someone told me

A few have told me that I can’t be a true metal fan because I don’t have long hair. So that quote is for them ^^,

so today there was concerts with local(stavanger/Sandes, Norway) metal bands, don’t remember all 4 of them, but here goes

The Influence of the Dead Marzipan

- kinda good, but not my favorite because most of the screams makes me think of pigs and that really just destroyed the songs for me.

Mirror of Madness

- like them way better live then on video, but they got really pro lokking videos (in my opinion) to just be a lokal band. They were less screamy then the other bands and you had a chance to catch the lyrics. they are hard to describe, just check them out.

Pain of Elohim

- my favorite, not neccerly because they are the best, but the bands members are really awesome to hang around. the Vocalist can produce some really wicked screams! they always goes mental on stage and get the crowed woth them.

Today, after two months reading I was done reading the biography of Kurt Cobain.

I think it’s best said by a cover of one of Kurt’s notebooks/diary

[This is not a review of the book, only a few simple thoughts]

“If you read, you will judge”

I truly loved and hated this book. I can not put all of my thoughts and feelings down in words. For some reason this book really touched me emotionally. if it weren’t for the fact that I finished reading the book in a public place I think I would have cried.

The book in my opinion will change your view of Kurt, no matter if you are a fan or not. I started reading this book not because I was a fan, I never liked Nirvana before I read this book, but I knew about Kurt Cobain and I was curious about how he lived, how he was thinking and what lead him down the path he went.

Like most people I thought from the start that Courtney Love was the source to his drug abuse that led to his death or that she was the one who killed him. Based on the book I am not sure anymore. She seemed to stay sober longer then him, and have more control then him, even thought they often escaped from this world together by shooting heroine.

It’s clearly to everyone that he was a simple man but yet so complicated, he was so cheerful but also in so much pain.

I think it’s impossible to say this in any way without sounding like a teeny fan of Nirvana, but still during this book I realized that to much of me found it self in Kurt and his thoughts and way of thinking. Things that he wrote in his journal(notebooks) could have been copied from my diary. Parts of my diary that was written long time before I read this book or even had heard about him and that partly freaks me out.

This song is on my Ipod, and I really like it and the lyrics does make me think of Kurt.

“My Hero”

A song by Foo Fighters (written by Dave Grohl) it’s said to be about everyday hero’s but also about Kurt Cobain. Dave said so in an interview (that my foo fighter maniac fan of a friend have)
